Buscher Blocks - Home | |
| "Buscher Blocks" are a set of seventy-eight interlocking blocks. I got a patent for them on July 27, 1999; but I have let the patent expire. I make the blocks from wood, usually Western Red Cedar, which is light and stable. I finish them with linseed oil and beeswax, and sell them for forty dollars a set. School fairs have been an important marketplace for me. I spread the blocks out on a big table, and put up "Please Play" signs. Kids and daring grownups accept the invitation. Some play for hours at a time. |
| "Buscher Blocks" come assembled as the as the "fancy cube" shown on the right. That's the only way you can get them back into the box. (Don't worry - you get an instruction book that shows you how.) But there are more interesting things you can do with these blocks. Any kid will show you. |

Little kids sometimes use just the flat blocks. |

We bigger kids use the slot blocks, as well. |

As an indication of the possibilities, here are three other ways to assemble the seventy-eight blocks. |
